Paper Princess left us more than a little pissed with Reed Royal, and Broken Prince left us wondering if we knew him at all. Twisted Palace finally gives us all the answers we crave.
It’s finally here. All those who have put off starting The Royals series to avoid the stress of all those cliffhangers can finally dive in and enjoy all the delicious insanity that is Ella Harper and the crazy world of Astor Prep.
We really don’t think you’ll be disappointed. There are a lot of stories and even more secrets in the Royals’ world, and Twisted Palace goes a long way to give us both. The truth has its day in the final chapter of Ella and Reed’s roller coaster love affair.
About ‘Twisted Palace’
From mortal enemies to unexpected allies, two teenagers try to protect everything that matters most.
Ella Harper has met every challenge that life has thrown her way. She’s tough, resilient, and willing to do whatever it takes to defend the people she loves, but the challenge of a long-lost father and a boyfriend whose life is on the line might be too much for even Ella to overcome.
Reed Royal has a quick temper and even faster fists. But his tendency to meet every obstacle with violence has finally caught up with him. If he wants to save himself and the girl he loves, he’ll need to rise above his tortured past and tarnished reputation.
No one believes Ella can survive the Royals. Everyone is sure Reed will destroy them all.

‘Twisted Palace’ book review
The Royals series has been one unexpected twist after another, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Sometimes, especially when reading romance, you become complacent in your expectations and forget how delicious a truly unexpected twist can be. Paper Princess, Broken Prince, and Twisted Palace weave a compelling tale of adaptation, misunderstandings, assumptions, and mistakes that reads far more complexly than your average YA or NA story.
I would like to thank Erin Watt for providing us with both Reed and Ella’s perspectives in this last book. If we were only privy to Ella’s warring thoughts, there’s no doubt in my mind that I would have spent 322 pages just trying to decide whether Reed was capable of committing the atrocities he’s charged with. Thanks to a few glimpses into the mind of our strong, silent hero, those doubts could be Ella’s alone.
And of course Ella would have doubts about Reed’s innocence. His nature makes that all but essential. However, it’s not imperative that we have doubts. By allowing us a few moments here and there to see things from Reed’s perspective, we know that our trust and affections have not been unwisely given.
Being able to trust Reed ourselves makes it all the more important to see how and why Ella can trust him. She knows in the deepest parts of her heart that the man she loves isn’t capable of murder. She goes to great trouble to prove her trust isn’t misplaced.
The ending we get in Twisted Palace is satisfying in all the best ways. We know where things stand. We know how, and why, and who, and when. Yet, there are more than a few things for us to hopefully learn in future stories set in this world. Easton’s mystery woman has this reader more than a little anxious to read his story. Val and Wade’s budding romance is practically begging to be a B-plot to Easton’s central story, unless, that is, Erin Watt wants to grace us with their story as well. We definitely wouldn’t complain.
Escaping from life’s craziness into a fictional world more twisted than each of our own is the true gift that Reed, Ella, and the rest of the Royals clan have given us. It’s one thing to escape into a good book, but it’s entirely another to enter a world we may never have experienced otherwise. Twisted Palace takes us behind the gated-community firewall and lets us see how the other half lives.
The only cure for this looming hangover is reminding ourselves that Easton’s story lies ahead, and is sure to be twice as complicated as Reed and Ella’s. And, hell, we don’t even know which lovely lady has stolen his heart, yet. We may have come to the end of this chapter of the Royals saga, but more deliciously twisted mystery lies ahead. Until then, we’ll just be counting the weeks, days, hours, and minutes.
Twisted Palace is available now. Grab your copy today from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or find it at an indie bookstore near you.
